What is the 7th International Barcode of Life Conference
The African Centre for DNA Barcoding (ACDB), The International Barcode of Life Project (iBOL), The Department of Environmental affairs (DEA) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) are proud to welcome delegates to our hosting of the 7th International Barcode of Life Conference, 20 – 24 November 2017.
This is the first time that this event will be held on the African continent. Thus, our intention is to make this a global conference with a distinctive African flavour. We intend to use the event to highlight, support and encourage African researchers across the continent and to link them to the global barcoding network. The conference format will include plenary lectures and parallel sessions comprising invited and contributed/selected talks. The conference also provides a general forum for presentations, posters and discussion on the wider field of DNA barcoding.
What We Did for Them
Gearbox Creative was contracted by the African Centre of DNA Barcoding (ACDB) to promote the 7th International Barcode of Life Conference on their preferred social media platforms. Original content is posted twice daily to both Facebook and Twitter. Active management of these platforms is also included as a part of this service.
All content is throughly researched and edited prior to posting. Gearbox Creative strives to deliver scientifically accurate, interesting posts to the conference’s social media followers. In order to ensure no scientific error, weekly content calendars are sent in advance to one of the ACDB scientists for sign off. This is an ongoing project that will continue through to the end of November.
